Privacy Policy

The short version:

1. Who we are

New Business Radar is run by Reuben Jackson Bland, a sole trader in Queensland, Australia (ABN 98 402 261 806). We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. Contact: reuben@newbusinessradar.com.au.

2. Information about subscribers

When you subscribe, we collect:

We use this to deliver your briefings, manage billing, provide support, and occasionally tell you about changes to the service. We don't sell, rent or trade your information.

3. Your Radar Board notes

Statuses, stars, notes, follow-up dates and the client value you enter on your Radar Board are saved in your own web browser on your own device. They are never sent to us, and we can't see them. Clearing your browser data deletes them, so use the "Export CSV" button if you want a copy.

4. Information about the businesses in our briefings

The businesses listed in our briefings come from the Australian Business Register's public bulk extract, published by the Australian Government. For sole traders, the public register includes the owner's name, and that may appear in a briefing as the business name. We may also add details a business has published publicly itself, such as its website, or the contact details shown on it or on its public business listing. We don't collect private or non-public information about anyone.

Want your business left out? Email us at reuben@newbusinessradar.com.au with your ABN and we'll exclude it from all future briefings.

5. Our website

Our website is hosted by Netlify, which, like any web host, automatically records basic technical information such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running. We don't currently use advertising cookies or tracking tools to follow you around the internet.

6. Who we share information with

We use a small number of trusted services to run the business:

These providers may store information on servers outside Australia, including in the United States. We only share what each service needs to do its job. We'll also disclose information if the law requires it.

7. Keeping information safe, and for how long

We use reputable services with strong security and limit access to information to what's needed to run the business. We keep subscriber records while you're subscribed. After you cancel, we keep billing records for as long as Australian tax law requires (generally five years), and delete your preferences when they're no longer needed.

8. Your choices

9. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please email us first and we'll try to fix it within 30 days. If you're still not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

10. Changes

We may update this policy as the service grows. The date at the top always shows the latest version, and we'll email subscribers about any significant change.
